Question about Wacom Intuos Pro Paper M

What about using it as a normal tablet without paper? Does it also react like the normal Intuos M or is it only suitable for paper?

This is the normal Wacom Intuos, the paper is just an addition. In other words, it works without any restrictions without paper. Frankly speaking: I have never used paper before, I just thought: if anything, the paper function is "nice to have".
