Do you have a source/link and the exact model where this is the case? Otherwise it is difficult to say whether this also applies here. 

Basically, there are guidelines on how to clean a display. Which cleaning agents are allowed, how much pressure can be applied, etc.? If this is not a production defect, there is usually no guarantee.
