What is the approximate scale of these models ? Examples of conventional model railways are: HO size / track gauge 16 mm / scale 1:87 or Size O / track gauge 32 mm / scale 1:45 (1:43.5)

Difficult to say, here are the dimensions of the locomotive and the trailer:
Locomotive size: 12*3.9*4.9in (315*100*125mm)
Tender size: 6.3*3.5*4.5in (160*90*115mm)
The dimension between the rails is 44mm.
Thank you Tino for your efforts to provide us with the dimensions of the model. However, it is very vague to draw conclusions about the scale from the dimensions of the locomotive and the tender, as the dimensions of a steam locomotive can be very different. I am thinking of a "Big Boy" compared to a "Tigerli" ;-))
If you are the proud owner of this model, please measure the dimension between the rail profiles. On the basis of this measurement, the scale can then be determined relatively accurately, this by comparison with the standard gauge of 1435mm common in Europe or at best with the broad gauge as it is common in Russia and America.
