Question about XGIMI Horizon Ultra (CH)

We have the device brand new - so far we have only watched films on the computer (streaming and DVD). What is the easiest way to project DVDs with the XGIMI? I have not been able to do it with the TrueDVD app when I connect the DVD drive directly to the XGIMI. Is it better to continue as before on the computer and connect with an HDMI cable? Many thanks for tips on the simplest method with good quality (mirroring the computer screen via Chrome or Airplay was very jerky...)- Thank you very much!
