Warning about this product. The LED is very bright and keeps shining into my arm. After 2 weeks, I got severe pain and inflammation in the back of my fingers, so I immediately put the watch aside. After that, I got a sunburn where the watch was placed, so that the skin became flaky and peeled off. A hard crust formed where the LED was and it peeled off after a few days. Underneath was extremely fine, very reddened skin. Afterwards and until today, a red hump formed (exactly at the place of the LED) like a severe sunburn. The pain in the hand and forearm continues. I will go to the doctor, document everything and take action against Withings. I don't think they have ever investigated what happens when you shine a light into your arm all the time. The LED is quite strong! Originally, I was extremely enthusiastic about this ScanWatch and also bought one for my wife, who didn't wear it that often and now also got a felck in her skin when the LED was on her arm. After some research, I found reports that some manufacturers have already had to recall such watches. Digitec should take this seriously. It could be that it only happens to people with light-sensitive, fair skin. The LED is so strong that even tanned skin has to be penetrated so that the sensors can measure. With light skin, the LED should not be so bright!
I have the same watch, I have also had other smartwatches before that, and I have never experienced such a problem.
You may have an allergy or other incompatibility with the watch.
The glow of the LED sometimes bothers me at night, then I take the watch off. I had problems with the strap and the buckle. But I have that with most watches. The strap can be removed easily and I was able to attach an alternative I made myself, which solved the problem for me (heavy sweat under the strap and nickel allergy).
It doesn't sound pleasant, you should have a doctor check if you have an allergy. From my own experience I cannot confirm the problem (I have "normal" fair skin, type 2-3).
that is probably not a question ;D
but thanks for the warning hehe
