There's one more thing to be aware of: when you lift the kettle from the base, all the LEDs go out and you can't tell whether it's really switched off or in "keep warm" mode (which means the manufacturer's design is wrong). If you put the empty pot back down without checking, the heating will automatically restart and the kettle will overheat! Always press the power button to switch it off manually (or deactivate the keep warm function).

So, if you take the kettle off the dock while it is warming up/boiling and put it back down after use, the "On" button still lights up, but it doesn't continue to boil. I don't know if this standby mode will switch itself off after a while! I'll test it ;-) It stays on so that when you put the kettle back on the dock, you can see how hot the water in the kettle still is. (I often need this if I want to make another green tea at 70 degrees). You also have to switch the "Keep warm" switch on or off manually. However, I would definitely buy it again, as the functions, quality and design are really great...

Hi,
The leds go out because it does not detect the jug, once it is repositioned the leds come on again. Once the jug is lifted the on button stays on and wants it to be on standby, once the jug is repositioned all the leds light up again.
I hope I've been thorough
