The ventilation is very loud and runs permanently from switch-on, even if no programme is open (processor utilisation 1 - 2 %). Trying to change the ITS performance mode (Best Performance or Best Experience) did nothing. Does anyone know a remedy? Does it make sense to contact Lenovo support?
I can't recommend the support. Just hang up the phone while talking. My PC works quietly again when I disconnect it completely from the power supply. Unfortunately, this doesn't help permanently, but it's always better than the noise.
I have also installed such a device at a customer's place. But the noise didn't go away even after disconnecting from the power supply.
The mainboard was then replaced on site.
That was also the case with me. I called Lenovo and they replaced the fan. After that it was quiet for a few months, then it started again. This time they replaced the motherboard. Since then it has been quiet. It worked very well with Lenovo support.
This was also the case with my two copies. A driver update helped! Simply open Windows 10 Updates, select "Show optional updates" and then open "Driver updates". After that, both computers were super quiet again.
It was the same for me. The support was ok after initial difficulties. At first they wanted to replace the fan 🤣. After 2-3 months, the support team came by and replaced the mainboard. "FUNNY" was that when he replaced it, he noticed that suddenly both boards were ok. He then installed the new one, but the fault seems to have disappeared due to the mechanical movements.
So I would definitely call for support and ask for the motherboard to be replaced.
Greetings Rolf
It's the same with me. I called support once and it was solved, but it came back after a month. Tedious product.
