The user manual found online for this device describes 240 VAC and a 16A fuse for the connection, which is relatively unusual for single-phase devices in Switzerland. The consumption is specified as a maximum of 1.39 kW, which would easily match a standard 13A (C) fuse. Has anyone used the appliance with a 13A fuse? Is the inrush current possibly too high?

Helpful answer

I think the recommendation comes from the fact that you risk using it on the same fuse as a washing machine and if you switch them on at the same time, you can blow the fuse.
I use it on a classic Swiss mono plug, which seems to me to be 13A, without any problems.

We have this appliance and when the tumble dryer and washing machine are running at the same time, the consumption is much higher and it also needs a larger fuse, which fortunately we have, so we have never had any problems so far.

I operate the tumble dryer with 16A
As both appliances are often running, tumble dryer and washing machine, this works perfectly.
If only one appliance is running, a 13A also works

We operate the washing machine and tumble dryer via a double socket using a 13 A fuse, as both appliances rarely run at the same time and even if they do, the maximum power consumption is very rarely reached. We've never had any problems so far.
