The processor is extremely hot (around 60-70 degrees with almost nothing running on the desktop and a constant 90 degrees when I run a game), I don't think that's normal.
This is definitely not the case for me. Radiator performance, conductive paste etc. checked?
Generally checked the air circulation in the housing?
This is completely normal with a normal air cooler, especially if the air circulation in the housing is perhaps not mega optimal.
I have tuned my 5800X3D with 0.1 volts and undervolted via the tuning software of the mainboard (should also work with Ryzen Master from AMD). This keeps it at 40-50 degrees in desktop mode and 60 to 70 degrees in games.
Either get a water cooling system and a well-ventilated case, find out how undervolting the CPU works or live with the temperatures. An I7 14900K would get even hotter ^^
Yes, it would be interesting to know what kind of cooler you are using. If you have an AMD box cooler, the temperatures are not that bad.
Well, mine has a maximum of 60 degrees at peak performance, but only briefly, then the water cooling immediately intervenes by increasing the fan speed and it is then cooled down to around 40 degrees.
I have a water cooling system from Arctic Liquid freezer 2 360 radiator. It has a special mounting option for AMD CPUs. Because their hotspots are not in the centre of the CPU.
Unfortunately, such things generally reveal incorrect installation of the processor.
Starting with the selection of the cooler through to incorrect installation or settings in the bios.
Firstly, I would be interested in the system combination including the components. Then I can get a picture and see what it could be.
In general, the 3D is a bit warmer than the other CPUs anyway, but it should stay within normal limits if the installation is done well.
