I haven't read the operating instructions at all, I use a power strip with approx. 3 metres of cable. No problem to date.

2 devices in use, one on the extension cable, one on a power strip. No problems with either

I have also read this. But this is not possible in most cases. I use a plug console with approx. 2 metres of cable. No problem to date.
