The Nikon Coolpix P610 has a filter thread of 52mm. Can you switch off the camera with the macro lens attached. The lens is retracted and the filter thread is slightly recessed when retracted.

Unfortunately, I can't answer that question. I don't have enough experience with the Coolpix camera. I only use the P950 now.
