The large container is not leak-proof; when I mix liquid (soup, sauce) in it, it spills out through the edge of the lid, even if I have closed the lid with the lever function. Does it have to be like this? Or should it not be leak-proof?

That happened to me too. You can't fill it up completely. If it sloshes out, the amount was too much. I now have a new blender. The Ninja motor is broken.
