Question about WD Red

The disks should actually run 24 hours a day, I would install them in the NAS, but it only runs about 30-40% of the time during the week. Or a few hours a day. Suitable for this?

Yes, of course :-)! Even if it would "run all the time" (i.e.: as intended) - what does it mean to "run all the time"? The disk goes into sleep mode anyway, so it's stationary. It would be stupid not to be allowed to switch it off ;o)!

24h only means that they can tolerate running 24h. It does not mean that you should never switch them off.

What you shouldn't do is switch them on and off every 10 minutes (bad power management might do that). Switching it on and off 3-4 times a day is certainly not a problem.
