Since the problem of coil whining is often criticised on the Internet with the XPS 13/15 models, I would be interested to know if anyone has already had bad experiences with it.
Thanks in advance
I have bought the XPS 13 model 3 times (replacement) and have also heard a lot about coil-whining (as I am active in forums and have made a Reddit post about it myself). Initially I experienced it myself with my first model, but it went away when I updated the device drivers for the input devices and the graphics drivers.
The device is very quiet in itself, so the coil whine was noticeable when it was very quiet. I don't want this to sound like it's coming from a Dell fanboy, but the problem has gone away with the updates on all my devices. Of course, I can't say that it's the same with every device, but it's the same with my 3. By the way, the coil whine only occurred when the cursor was moved in the browser.
Well, I finally refreshed the thermal paste and put thermal pads on the heat pipes and the SSD, and since then I haven't heard anything from the device.
