Since my power supply unit was getting too loud, I ordered this modular PSU 1250. Unfortunately, when I connect the graphics card directly to the 8PiN CPU/PCIE with the supplied 8-pin cable, the card only turns on briefly and nothing happens and the picture remains black. Do I need a different cable or adapter? How can I connect the GPU?

You must make sure that you insert the 6+2 pin connector completely into the 8 pin socket. This connector is labelled pci-e. The other end with the unbranched 8 pin connector goes into the power supply. Each power connector on your graphics card must be connected.
