My electrician plugged this thing into the 3-socket outlet in the server cabinet and connected the power strip to it. This was done during the renovation of the house, where the entire electrical distribution was redone and only RCDs are now present.

I wouldn't hang it in front of my server. It is very sensitive and has already tripped on me from time to time without me being able to see a reason. The RCD is more about personal protection, I personally don't see the need for it in the server cabinet - especially if the whole house already has RCD switches.
