Question about Nanoleaf Canvas Smarter Kit (9 Panels)

According to Nanoleaf, there is a hotspot mode in which the panels make their own network. To do this, the power and music mode (the symbol with the note) must be pressed and held simultaneously for 30 seconds. This creates its own network, to which you can connect with your smartphone. As a limitation, however, you cannot download firmware updates or light settings from other users. Apart from that, the panels should work perfectly. I have my panels in the house network myself, but I found the functionality in the official manual.

You can also establish a VPN connection from your mobile phone to the router.
This is very easy with Swissocm routers. You can set this up on the config page of your router.
If you then have the VPN from you (4G) to your network, your mobile phone acts as part of this network.
This means that you can access your home devices or control your panels from anywhere (I also did this at my old home, it works great and is not that much effort to set up).
