Microsoft says that the device has "intelligent charging" so that the battery is only charged to 80% to protect it when constantly connected to the mains. Can anyone confirm that this works?

I've had it for just under a month, and I can't confirm this because the display shows a 100% charge, but perhaps the 100% shown is actually only 80% of the battery's capacity.
Well, I wouldn't say "intelligent", but basically yes, it has worked for several Surface generations.
