To be honest, I've never tried that either, but with a USB stick it works like a charm ...
Basically yes, but only certain data must be transferred to the medium in the correct format. SSD no problem to use (With the correct format is explained in the operating instructions...) Nice to now... No CD-Text, SACD etc. it does not have! Simple but solid entry-level CD player. Top for this price range!
