LG OLED77G7V vs. Sony 77A1 77 inch - Which is better? As far as I know, Sony has also installed LG panels, or the panels are quite similar. Is the Sony unreservedly the flagship and therefore an absolute buy recommendation in this price segment? My applications are gaming (PC/PS4) and watching Bluray, not conventional TV programmes.
I always have to smile a little when such a question comes up, especially when the hardware in question costs so much that most people would not even buy such a device.
I would then also claim that whoever can afford such a luxury (more than a TV) probably also has a certain brand loyalty and does not buy cross and queer and can therefore still not make a statement despite several such devices.
As the owner of a KD-77A1, I can only say that I am very satisfied with what I do with it, such as watching anime and films or iNet surfing / gaming, although for the last two points you have to switch to gaming mode because the LAG is otherwise too brutal. The OLED picture is, as expected, awesome and the Acoustic Surface Sound generated by the OLED panel is not something I would push off the edge of my bed - it's not true 5.1 but I don't feel compelled to buy a soundbar or home theatre system.
So I would say that it's simply a question of what kind of look you want - the KD-77A1 is really just a monolith on the wall (pictures by me: https://imgur.com/gallery...) where the OLED77G7V still has the classic speakers underneath that might get in the way if you want to upgrade sound-wise.
