Question about Bridge - 356449
Can someone explain to me how Hue works? It all sounds exciting - but I don't get it. Hue Bridge has a connection to the lamps - but how? Why does Hue bridge have to be connected to the router, what does connected even mean, contact to WAN or LAN? And the app communicates via bluetooth with bridge? I haven't found an explanation anywhere...

The lamps are controlled with the ZigBee protocol. This connection is made by the bridge with the lamps, as your smartphone cannot do this itself. With the connection to the router, you have access from the LAN, but also from "anywhere" in the world and can therefore also control your lamps from your holidays. I don't know at the moment whether this can be prevented.
