I've been using the device since yesterday evening. To all those who also work with the same configuration (i7, 32 GB DDR4 RAM, 1000 GB SSD), can you also hear the "crackling and hissing" (it's not the fans, nor the speakers)? With an ear distance of 15 cm, the noises are clearly audible. At a normal distance during employees' work, they are easily audible. No longer audible when the fan is running.
Hello SirDave. I use the device very actively and have no crackling or hissing. I would almost say that you've got yourself a faulty model.
I would return it via Digitec and request a new one.
We have several devices of the same configuration in operation and do not have the problem with the "crackling and hissing".
I have had the same device for about half a year and don't have the problem. Basically, I'm happy with my device. If it's not the fans, it should theoretically be the SSD disc or the mainboard. Replace the device and submit a complaint.
Indeed! You can hear something at 15 cm. I have a dock on it and have limited the CPU to 99% in the Windows energy settings so that the fan starts up less often. So far it has been fine and quiet at more than 15 cm. The milky keyboard print on a quarter of the screen is more annoying. It's easy to wipe off with a damp cloth and a dry cloth, but it's still annoying when you open it. Had to put a microfibre cloth inside!
Addendum: It is very likely to be coil beeping. The only question is whether the beeping of this device is within the "volume tolerance". It seems remarkably loud to me, I've never had it at this noise level with comparable laptops. This is my second device, the touchpad didn't work properly on the first E16, but there was no "crackling and beeping".
