The drive is supplied with a Y-USB cable, so it could be connected to two USB sockets on the host. However, this is a) not necessary with modern hardware as there is usually enough power available on one port and b) not provided for in the USB specification. Therefore, I simply leave the second USB-A plug unplugged, and it works fine.

Since it is a DVDRW device, it can write DVDs as well as CDs.
