Is this film also useful against the sun's rays? I am looking for a solution for my Ipad so that I can also work on it in the garden.

Since the film is matt, there are no problems with reflections.
limited, matt helps but the ambient brightness is decisive. with ipad pro i usually have no problems reading in the sun.
