Is this eGPU also compatible with the iMac Retina 5K, 2017 (with integrated graphics card = Radeon Pro 580 8 GB)? And do I see that correctly, there are 3 Displayport ports, 1 HDMI and 1 DVI port? Does the eGPU actually not need power or why does it have a power port then? And the last two questions; is the Thunderbolt 3 cable included and if so, how long is it? Thank you very much for any help :-)
So the eGPU does need additional power. The eGPU housing has one USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 connection, two USB-A connections and one Ethernet connection. The video connections that you can see in the product image are from the graphics card used and this is NOT included.
The included Thunderbolt 3 cable is approx. 30cm long.
May I also add: The connections (Displayport, HDMI, DVI) are already intended for several external monitors, or? If I connect two external monitors, one via HDMI and the other via DVI, then I end up with 3 independent (i.e. not mirrored!) monitor images?
