Question about Samsung 9100 PRO
Is this 4TB SSD fitted with chips on one or both sides? Is it compatible with the PCIe 4.0 protocol?
The memory chips are only on one side, making it perfect for use in notebooks. It is also backwards compatible with other PCIe connectors.
chips on one side only and PCIe 4.0 backwards compatible. But if you only run it with 4.0, it will only run at half the speed. If your mobo doesn't support a higher protocol, then I would rather just buy a Gen 4 NVME. It would also be half the price. I don't think you'll notice the difference.
