Question about LG 55uh850v
Is there anything standing in the way of the interaction with the Sonos Playbar regarding the forwarding of the Dolby Digital signal via the optical output to the PLAYBAR?
I don't know any soundbars, but I can say the following:
Via the Toslink (optical) you get Dolby digital surround sound, but nothing more. Dolby dts or true HD is not supported by the Toslink. Here I only have experience via hdmi. The path of the signal is then source hdmi to the amplifier (sonos in your case) then hdmi to the TV. In addition to needing the appropriate connections, the device in the middle, in my case the amplifier, must also support much more. I only say so much Hdr, 4k, Hz even the colour depth. So I need a new amplifier at some point.
