Intel Core i5-7640X X-Series

LGA 2066, 4 GHz, 4 -Core

Question about Intel Core i5-7640X X-Series

Is there anyone who can explain this processor to me? No more PCIE lanes than normal i7 7700k or i5 7600k just needs a more expensive motherboard.

Yes, exactly. It is one of the most useless and pointless processors there is. It was supposed to be Intel's quick-fire response to AMD. But it no longer has an integrated graphics unit. TDP is higher, offers nothing more than a conventional 7600K, but needs a very expensive motherboard. Only the base clock is slightly higher, but you can ignore that if you get a normal K CPU and then overclock it. Also, only 4 real cores on an X chipset simply don't make sense.
That's why production has been stopped in the meantime. Do not buy!

Yes well I don't need the IGPU but more lanes would be great...X motherboards are overpriced anyway for what they deliver. The only thing is RAM in quadchannel that gives a little more performance and otherwise just more RAM that you can pile on. And support for the high core CPUs. Thank you very much, so I'm not wrong that this CPU is useless.
