Is the Sony UBP-X700 (4k Ultra HD Blu-ray, Player, Wi-Fi, Black) "region free" and able to play U.S. DVDs?
No, it is not. According to the community, it cannot be hacked without further ado. One possibility is to rip the U.S. discs on the PC and then play them from the hard drive directly on the player.
