Is the Sigma TC-1401 teleconverter also compatible with Nikon telezoom lenses, e.g. the Nikon AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8 ?

No. The converter is exclusively designed for Sigma telephoto lenses of the HSM series (Contemporary/Sports/Art). Even with other Sigma lenses, the converter is not supposed to work properly. With the right lens, the converter delivers excellent results.

I bought the TC-1401 because it is the only one that works correctly (including autofocus and exposure) with the Sigma 150-600 Sports.

Some Nikon lenses work, but not all. Unfortunately, I can confirm that the 70-200 does not work.

The 28-300, for example, works again. But only mine. Not my wife's ... probably another series ...
