The Roborock S8 series offers three different models: S8, S8+ and S8 Pro Ultra. Here are the main differences between them:
Brushes and suction power: All models have a maximum suction power of 6,000 Pa and can pick up up to 350 ml of dust and dirt. Unlike the Pro Ultra version, the Roborock S8 and S8+ cannot automatically lift the brush to avoid a cable, for example.
Mop system: All hoovers have a mop system that also enables stains to be removed. On the Pro Ultra model, the mop can be raised by up to 6 mm, while the other models are limited to 5 mm. However, the water tank of the S8 and S8+ is 100 ml larger than the Pro Ultra model at 300 ml.
Accessories: The water tank of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is filled automatically in the robot's station. With the other devices, this has to be done manually. The cleaning station of the S8 Pro Ultra can also empty dust, clean the mop, dry the mop and collect the dirty water. The S8+ also contains a station, but this has fewer functions. The normal Roborock S8 only comes with a charging station.
The Pro Ultra station cleans the device as it moves around. However, you then have to clean the docking station regularly, which is more tedious. With the S8+, all you have to do is rinse the micro-fibre, which takes a minute.... Ideally, you should buy some extra to rotate with the washing machine, but not for every cleaning.
I have the S8+. My pre-purchase analysis showed that the robots themselves are practically identical. I let the s8+ vacuum twice a week (time programme) and change the cleaning cloth and fill the water tank beforehand. It only takes 2 minutes per week and the addition of the pro is not necessary. but the suction station is very practical. I am extremely satisfied
The station is different. With the all-in-one dock, the robot cleans itself after every clean. Has improved VibraRise® 2.0 in two ways with an additional vibration module
