Is the new remote control compatible with the old Shield? If so, when will it be possible to buy it separately?

No compatibility is stated by Nvidia.
The new remote control can be paired with the old shield. There are even videos about this on YouTube. If necessary, I can also provide the link.
yes nice! i'll have to check it out right away. i'm still wondering whether the remote control has a battery or not :) let's hope for a battery.
