Question about Albrecht Dr 56+
Is the device attached to the suction cup base with a magnet? If so, could I use a magnetic base holder, e.g. from Peak Design?

Yes - there is a metal plate at the back that goes together with the magnet. But I don't use the holder. I removed a magnet from a wall map holder (approx. 30mm in diameter) and then attached it to the dashboard above my radio with round adhesive strips (Lidl).
Yes, the magnet is located on the suction cup, the back of the DR56+ is flat and has an integrated metal disc with a diameter of 30 mm. So it should work.
