Is the cooler sufficient for a ryzen 7 3700X? Probably not?

Hmm, the same question was asked above for an older generation CPU. The answer back then was that it is enough for this CPU if no overclocking is done. At that time it was a 1700x now 2 generations later I would tend to think that this one could be quite scarce. I assume you chose this cooler because it is quite low and you might not have much room in the case for a bigger one.

You might even be better off with the boxed one. The boxed should be enough, but it is not the quietest and it only does what is necessary. I think there are better alternatives. If you have enough space, I would suggest a be quiet one:

be quiet! cooler Shadow Rock TF 2 (11.20cm)

but this one doesn't come with thermal paste, so you'll have to get that separately.

The idea was to install a quiet cooler that doesn't take up too much space. I don't have much room in the width because my graphics card is mounted vertically and there's just 1 cm of space between it and the boxed cooler. Noctua is also known for being very quiet, I have the same cooler installed with my Ryzen 3 1200 and I don't hear a peep from it, but the boxed cooler on the Ryzen 7 3700X is just too loud for me.

I have the cooler on the Ryzen 3700x without Oc.

The cooler howls clearly with every programme start. Idle at approx. 1000Rpm!
I ordered this one
