Is it recommended to use an external monitor with 2560x1440 pixels with this MacBook with a screen resolution of 3024 x 1964 pixels?

I think it should be possible for the MacBook Pro to output this resolution. I myself use a monitor with 3440x1440 pixels and that works without any problems.
