Is it possible to set the appliance to 60% humidity? So the control knob between two levels?
On earlier models you could adjust humidity exactly, but this has pre-set positions. The knob cannot be set between the pre-set positions, so the answer to your question is no.
The default humidity value can be set to 8 positions (no intermediate values) using the detent switch.
I have a hygrometer next to it and was able to set "my" desired humidity with some tolerance.
A few per cent more or less is not relevant for me.
I have installed the appliance in the garage because of mould on the walls due to excessive humidity and operate it with a drain hose. With the switch in the vertical position and fan II, the appliance always switches on when the 60% brand is reached (I have set up a separate measuring device) and switches off again after the reduction to a good 50%. So it always swings reliably between 50 and 60%. Since we have been using the appliance, there is no longer any odour in the garage and the air is pleasantly dry.
Remember that the whole thing is not an exact science. We have this dehumidifier in the laundry room and it works very well. But it makes sense to simply have a few stages. It's not as if it switches on at 61% when your target value is 60% and switches off again at 59%. Rather, you need to use a hygrometer in the room to roughly monitor that the humidity is within the range you need. And 60% is already very low. Why not 75%? Also think about the power consumption.
