Is it possible to connect the keyboard of the Surface Pro 3? I'm thinking of getting the Surface Pro 7 to replace my destroyed Pro 3 - but would like to keep using the keyboard.

Yes, I tried that and it works. However, the magnet positions are no longer quite right and the old Type Cover protrudes slightly over the display. With the Surface Pro 4, this was enlarged from 12 to 12.3", with slightly smaller display edges.
I much prefer typing with the new Type Cover and the enlarged touchpad is also more usable. Whether it's worth the steep Microsoft tax, however, is another question.
