Unfortunately, no. The display should actually adjust automatically depending on the brightness of the room. But it was always too bright for me, even in the darkest mode. In general, I would not buy this alarm clock. The FM radio, function keys and menu control are from the last millennium. There is a competing product from Nokia (Whitings) or simply install a few HUE lightbulbs in the room and set the time via the app.
I have reduced the display brightness of my alarm clock to the minimum. After about 5 seconds, the display switches off completely and only comes back on when the alarm clock goes off.

The brightness can be regulated in four levels. 1 weak to 4 strong. The display cannot be turned off completely. I cannot judge by eye whether it regulates itself further down, as the eye can regulate itself strongly. The strongest level, 4, has never bothered me. The colour is a pleasant evening red.
