Is it enough to slightly overclock an i5 8600k?
Got the one for I7 9700K and it's good enough ^^
I overclocked my i5 8600K to 4.8GHz and it runs at 60-70°C under load.
Good day. This cooler will do. It is not always necessary to use a water cooler or a huge tower cooler. The important thing is always the combination of thermal paste and cooler. You can have a huge cooler but a not so good transferable thermal paste and then you have the salad. I recommend from my own experience to install the cooler together with the Arctic MX4 thermal compound, then it should be enough. What you need to know is that Intel CPUs get warm by default, no matter what cooling system you use. You can replace the CPU heads and the thermal paste between the actual chip and the conductive surface, i.e. the silver surface where it says which cpu you have, etc... this way you will gain the most. I hope I could help you :-) I have installed the cooler myself in 3 systems. He is quiet of the size in order and the memory RIegel fit even high Rigel with RGB geblinke ;-)
It's going to get pretty hot. I would definitely recommend something stronger.
