Unfortunately not, I had to experience this first hand. I contacted Asus support, they said you should contact the dealer (digitec), who will then send you an old CPU with which you can do the update. I am now in contact with digitec.

Unfortunately, this is not apparent. I would ask Asus customer support directly.
