Instead of the i7-7700 we had chosen, the new i7-8700 was recommended and sold to us for the mainboard at the sales counter in Wohlen. Now the problem is that it does not work.
Hello
I hope I can help you. Because I think you have been wrongly advised.
The 7700 and 7700 T or K will work with the board.
The 8700 is a good processor but is not supported by Asus at this time.
You can check it yourself under Asus cpu_support (Google search).
Then enter your motherboard and see which processors are supported.
The Asus ROG Maximus X Hero supports this processor.
So find a solution with Digitec on Monday.
...because this mainboard Maximus IX Hero and the CPU i7-8700 do not fit together and the pins on the CPU i7-8700 are different, there is a short circuit and the CPU i7-8700 is defective. The correct motherboard for the i7-8700 is ASUS ROG MAXIMUS X HERO (LGA 1151, Intel Z370, ATX) and for i7-7700 and for i7-7700 https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/asus-rog-maximus-ix-hero-lga-1151-intel-z270-atx-mainboard-6067314, this is what happens when you don't even have a clue at Digitec at the sales counter and then the customer is the stupid one. Just like you sell a motherboard brand new and unopened and then there are all fingerprints and fine hairs on it. It's happened twice.
