Question about Gigabyte X870 AORUS Stealth ICE
In the description of this product it says: "Supported memory speed 7000 MHz, 7600 MHz, 7800 MHz, 7900 MHz, 7950 MHz, 8000 MHz, 8200 MHz." Does this mean that all Ram cards below 7000 MHz cannot be used for this product? Or is this a mistake? I would like to have 2x 32GB Ram installed but I could not find any Ram cards which have 32GB and come above 6600 MHz and are also white. Please help.
No, this does not mean that you can only use RAM above 7000 MHz. The mainboard of course also supports slower DDR5 RAM - e.g. 4800 MHz, 5200 MHz, 5600 MHz, 6000 MHz or 6400 MHz.
The clock rates mentioned in the description (7000-8200 MHz) only refer to the overclocked EXPO/XMP profiles, i.e. what the board can manage at maximum if the memory can cope with this.
If you want to install 2 × 32 GB of RAM, you can use a kit with DDR5-6000 MHz EXPO without any problems - this is currently the sweet spot for AMD Ryzen 7000/9000 CPUs and runs very stably.
