I would like to replace my old Yamaha RX-470 tuner with a DAB+ device. The RX-470 is connected to an amplifier. An amplifier is integrated in the R-S202DAB. Is this a problem? Should I buy another device?

Hello, your old RX-470 already seems to have an integrated amplifier, and you also have another amplifier that is certainly also good and powerful. This means that you "only" need modern DAB+ reception. A pure DAB tuner without an integrated amplifier is sufficient for this. The R-S202DAB is o.k. for this, but somewhat modest in terms of DAB functions (limited ability to store stations etc. see the other reviews). My suggestion: Buy a well-equipped tuner with additional functions, e.g. the: Renkforce RF-DAB-IR 1700 HiFi tuner DAB+, FM, Internet radio, Bluetooth, WLAN DLNA-capable.

Hello Bruno, if you want to keep the amplifier, this is the wrong device. I use the R-S202DAB in my holiday flat together with a Yamaha CD player and am happy with it for occasional use. However, if you listen to the radio regularly, I would recommend a pure DAB+ tuner. There are also combination devices with CD such as the TEAC PD-301 which I can also recommend. If you also want Internet radio and Bluetooth in addition to DAB+, there are also various combination devices such as the Magnat MMS 730. I hope this helps:-)

Hello, you can of course also tap the DAB signal at the line-out output of the R-S202DAB and connect it to your old RX-470, then you still have all Yamaha devices, if that is still a criterion.
