Of course it can, it can project everywhere and aligns itself very well if you place it "wrongly". However, if you place it on the bed, for example, it can no longer cool because the hot air can no longer escape...

There is a screw hole at the bottom of the unit where a photo stand can be screwed on. One would have to prepare a tripod or other construction with 90 degrees horizontal screw direction then one has a perfect mounting for a ceiling projection.
