I would like to know if I can send .avi movies from my mac via wifi to my hard drive in order to have a library of movies stored in memory.

Yes, you can. I don't know about macs, but if you can make the folder containing the videos visible on your network, you can access them with the Samsung BD-H8900. The best thing is to have your videos on a NAS that you can access via DLNA.

Never tried it, but I don't think so. The hard drive is only used for recordings from the TV unless I'm mistaken
