I still have an original Tolino, but I can no longer download books directly from Onleihe because of some key thing that is no longer supported. But with the USB cable you can still add books from the Onleihe store. Now I'm looking for a new EReader: I had a Pocketbook Era in my hand, which is infinitely slow, a bit strange to use. But with it, firstly, I can listen to audio books, and secondly, what excites me most, I can mark words I don't understand and research them with Google. I can't do either in the Tolino. Can anyone tell me whether the latest generation of Tolino can also handle these 2 features and is also faster than Pocketbook?
Tolino: Can I look up or translate words in the eBook?
To translate or look up individual words in an eBook, simply tap on them and hold your finger on the word for a little longer. The translation and look-up function is then available in the context menu. The first time you do this, you will be asked to download the dictionaries. You can choose from the French-German, English-German, Italian-German and Spanish-German dictionaries, as well as a constantly growing number of other dictionaries. You can easily download these by tapping on the desired dictionary via the tolino eReader.
If you use an eReader explicitly for Onleihe, direct download is possible on both the Pocketbook and the Tolino. On the Pocketbook, audio books can be listened to, but only purchased ones and not borrowed ones from the Onleihe (because of DRM). Although the Pocketbook can do more, a Tolino is probably more sustainable because Pocketbook stops updating when the devices are no longer sold for more than two years. Apart from the first Tolino shine (last sale 2012), all Tolino models still receive updates. For Pocketbook (https://papierlos-lesen.de/firmware...), the software version must be higher than 6.5 for the eReader to be compatible with Onleihe and Overdrive.
