If they all work individually or in smaller groups, then your limit is 8 devices. If I switch on all 10 at the same time, it only shows 6 devices under "Devices", although in principle they all work. However, all 10 appear in the list, which seems to depend on the system.

I've never tried to switch on 10 discs at the same time, but 6 at the same time from memory, yes!

i don't use it with Mac but for me it works like charm, but most USB chipsets/hubs have a limit to how many devices they can handle — often only 8 storage devices.
Some USB bridges or hubs do not support daisy-chaining more than 8 mass storage devices, even if physically possible.
Open Terminal and run
diskutil list
to see if macOS recognizes all 10.
