I plan to use this card for a 5G router. However, there are mobile 5G plans on the same network that are cheaper. What is the difference between a mobile 5G SIM and an IoT SIM, and what is the argument in the use case for an IoT SIM?

IoT, i.e. Internet of Things, stands for a SIM without telephone and text function. Only data, options for telephony and text messages can be booked.
The data is unlimited, but you still have to check whether there is fair use, i.e. whether the speed is throttled after a data volume threshold is exceeded. As far as I know, this is only applied in extreme cases at Galaxus.
With many cheaper suppliers, I would bet that there is fair use and that you will soon have a lot of months left without data.
