I need help. I don't have a mains connection at my car park. As I understand it, does this thing allow me to charge my battery without a power supply? Or do I have to have a power supply somewhere?

Yes, it needs a power supply. Either a running engine, an alternator/alternator or a PV system.

you can use input your car's alternator or solar pabel or both to charge your service battery. my Ford transit custom had a 20 A , 12V output under the driver seat, i used that one as input to charge my 100A Amg battery
