I just put the navigation system into operation and every time I switch it off, the configuration is lost. I save every setting every time. Am I doing something wrong or does the sat nav have a problem?

Have you done all the updates?  If not, you could initialise the browser with the factory settings.  It is also possible to use the Garmin Drive app from a smartphone for synchronisation.  But which settings are not saved?
